The handmade production procedures have not changed in many years.
Sol-y-Yo artesans keep using the old traditions. The way we produce now is the same way that our great grand parents were making clay pottery. No shortcuts and only natural materials.
Mixing the clay by hand and stamping it with our feet into a homogenous mass. Pounding it into the moulds and drying it in the climate of the central Mexican plateau until it is strong enough to bake in the oven.
Painted with a rough cloth to give it the typical oxidated texture. But we also paint other colors that can be combined wit more modern interiors. Colors like our concrete gray cantera finish.
Finally, we pack our products in boxes that tell you about our work. and our lifestyle.
